Royal Canadian Legion to make donation to Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service
MEDIA RELEASE: WINNIPEG 0ctober 16, 2006 - Members of the Prince Edward Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion will be making a donation to the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service this afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at Station 8, located at 640 Kimberly Avenue. The donation in the amount of $3,800 will be used for the purchase of Laerdal Suction Units (as shown below), specialized medical equipment used in the treatment of patients with respiratory problems.
What is most impressive is that we have a community organization that is wanting to make an investment directly in the health and well-being of Winnipeggers, said Fire & Paramedic Chief Wes Shoemaker. It is the citizens of Winnipeg who will benefit directly from the generosity of the Legion, and for that the Service is very grateful. The presentation will be formally made by Madeline Swaffer, President and Rita McLeod, Second Vice-President, to Chief Shoemaker. |
