WINNIPEG 0ctober 10, 2006 - Winnipeg Transit is recruiting highly motivated persons with a sincere desire to serve the public. Winnipeg Transit employs over 1,000 bus operators and needs to hire about 70 new operators every year.
- Applications accepted at City Hall, 510 Main Street, in the Foyer Tuesday October 10 and Wednesday, October 11 between 9:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.

- Starting rate is over $14/hr and Operators progress to over $42,000/year with guaranteed Full Time hours and comprehensive benefits
- Winnipeg Transit hires about 6 operators every month
- Bus Operators stay on the job an average of 15 years

- Extensive classroom and in-vehicle training is provided and paid for over a five-week period
