Operating hours for City facilities, September long weekend

The following operating hours will be in effect over the September long weekend for all City of Winnipeg facilities.

WINNIPEG September 31, 2006

City of Winnipeg Offices:
All Civic Offices are closed on Monday, September 4, 2006.
Garbage/Recycling:

No Recycling/Garbage Collection on Monday, September 4, 2006
Recycling and garbage will not be collected on the Labour Holiday Monday, September 4, 2006. Collection will resume on Tuesday, September 5 – Day 1 on the five-day cycle.

This affects only those homes on the 5-day collection calendar for garbage and recycling. Collection for all others (i.e., apartments) will continue as normally scheduled.

The Recycling/Garbage Collection Calendar is at the back of the MTS White Pages Phone Book and at Winnipeg.ca/waterandwaste.

Hours of operation for the Brady Road Landfill during the holiday weekend:
Saturday, September 2 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Sunday, September 3 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Monday, September 4 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Beginning Sunday, September 3, 2006 the following Transit routes will be operating on a fall schedule.

15 Mountain-Sargent
41 Henderson Express

18 North Main – Corydon 
57 Southdale Express
19 Marion-Logan-Notre Dame

24 Ness Express

Route changes:
40 All Season Express - new route replaces 41 Henderson Express service to/from All Seasons.
41 Henderson Express – operates to and from Glenway loop.

Golf Courses:

All municipal courses are open from dawn to dusk over the long weekend. Golfers are encouraged to call ahead for tee time reservations.

Libraries:

All Libraries are closed Sunday, September 3 and Monday, September 4, 2006. The Millennium, St. Boniface and Sir William Stephenson Libraries are open 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2006.

Zoo:
Open 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. daily.
Beginning Sept 5, 2006 hours are 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, Mon – Fri; and Sat & Sun, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Conservatory:
Open 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. daily.
Beginning Sept 5, 2006 hours are 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Swimming Pools:

All indoor pools are closed on Monday, September 4 except the Pan Am Pool which is open 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Regular hours are in effect for all indoor pools on Saturday, September 2 and Sunday September 3.

Leisure Centres:

All Leisure Centres are closed on Monday, September 4.
Regular hours are in effect on Saturday, September 2 and Sunday, September 3.

Animal Services Agency:
Closed Monday, September 4, 2006
Open normal weekend hours on Saturday, September 2 and Sunday, September 3, 2006 from 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
