Fort Rouge Park wading pool closed for repairs

WINNIPEG July 19, 2006 - The wading pool at Fort Rouge Park, 295 River Avenue will be closed for repairs until further notice.

Repairs are needed following a fire to the wading pool building yesterday.

The site was safely secured last night and Public Works is currently assessing the damage and extent of repairs required.

Patrons are encouraged to visit the following alternative locations:

• River Osborne, 466 Gertrude Ave., is open seven days per week from 11:30 am to 6:00 pm and is 0.9 km from Fort Rouge Park
• McFayden Park, 416 Assiniboine Ave., is open Wednesday to Saturday from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm and is 1.4 km from Fort Rouge Park

The wading pool at Fort Rouge Park will be closed until repairs are completed.
