Youth Career Camp at The City of Winnipeg

WINNIPEG - August 19, 2005 - The City of Winnipeg Corporate Services Department and the Citizen Equity Committee will be hosting a week long Youth Career Camp starting Monday, August 22, 2005.
Eleven youth between the ages of 12 and 15 from the Lighthouse Newcomer’s Program will be participating in this year’s Camp.
The Youth Career Camp is intended to provide awareness on various employment opportunities and educational requirements for positions within the City of Winnipeg.
This initiative is directly related to the City of Winnipeg’s Action Plan for Creating a Diverse Workforce. The first City of Winnipeg Youth Career Camp was held in 2004 at the Planning, Property and Development Department. Eleven Aboriginal Youth participated.
