City services for Monday, Aug 1st, 2005

All civic offices will be closed on Monday, August 1, 2005. Additional information on City services is provided below.
Community Services
Libraries:
The following libraries are open on Saturday, July 30th: St. Boniface, St. James, and Sir William Stephenson; regular hours are in effect. All Libraries are closed Monday, August 1.
Zoo:
Open 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Conservatory:
Open 9:00 am. – 8:00 pm.
Leisure Centres:
All Leisure Centres are closed on Monday, August 1. Regular hours are in effect on Saturday July 30 & Sunday July 31. Please see the Leisure Guide or visit the City of Winnipeg Web site Winnipeg.ca for Leisure Centre schedules.
Swimming Pools:
All indoor pools are closed on Monday, August 1 except Pan Am Pool. Pan Am Pool is open 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.. Regular hours are in effect for all indoor pools on Saturday, July 30 & Sunday, July 31.
Weather permitting all outdoor pools are open. Hours vary however most outdoor pools are open noon - 7:00 p.m.
Public swim information for City operated indoor and outdoor pools is available by calling 311 (7946) or by visiting the City of Winnipeg Web site (Winnipeg.ca).
Wading Pools:
Weather permitting, the following wading pools will be open on Monday August 1:
- Westdale Wading Pool, 550 Dale Blvd.
- Amherst Park Wading Pool, 340 Amherst St.
- St. Charles Park Wading Pool, 3884 Ness Ave.
- McKittrick Park Wading Pool, 790 Rathgar Ave.
- Brock Cordova Park Wading Pool, 372 Cordova St.
- Dakota Park Wading Pool, 1188 Dakota St.
- Provencher Park Wading Pool, 620 rue Langevin
- Central Park Wading Pool, 400 Cumberland Ave.
- Home Playground Wading Pool, 772 Sargent Ave.
- Robert A. Steen Memorial CC Wading Pool, 980 Palmerston Ave.
- Machray Park Wading Pool, 475 Anderson Ave.
- Northwood CC Wading Pool, 1415 Burrows Ave.
- Pascoe Park Wading Pool, 155 Jordan St.
- Kildonan Park Wading Pool, 2015 Main St.
- Bronx Park CC Wading Pool, 131 Chelsea Pl.
- Keenleyside Park Wading Pool, 480 Keenleyside St.
- Pirates Park Wading Pool, 761 Rosseau Ave.
Hours vary; however, most wading pools are open 11:30 am – 5:00 pm.. For schedule information, please call 311 for pools in the South & West Areas, 311 for pools in the City Centre Area, and 311 for pools in the North & East areas. The wading pools 2005 schedule is available at all indoor pools, recreation facilities and libraries or by visiting the City of Winnipeg Web site (Winnipeg.ca).
Water and Waste Department
No Recycling/Garbage Collection on Monday, August 1, 2005
Recycling and garbage will not be collected on the Civic Holiday, Monday, August 1, 2005. Collection will resume on Tuesday, August 2, 2005 – Day 3 on the five-day cycle.
This affects only those homes on the five-day collection calendar for garbage and recycling. Collection for all others (i.e., apartments) will continue as normally scheduled.

Hours of operation for the Brady Road Landfill during the holiday weekend:
- Saturday, July 30 - 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Sunday, July 31 - 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Monday, August 1 - 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
