Municipal golf courses reopen
WINNIPEG - JULY 22, 2005 - Following adverse weather conditions over the past few weeks, the municipal golf courses have now all reopened.
Kildonan Park Golf Course (311) was hit hard by the recent storm but the course has been cleared of downed power lines, debris and fallen trees allowing the entire 18 hole course to reopen Friday, July 22, 2005. Conditions are generally good with some wet spots. Power carts are operating.
Windsor Park Golf Course (311) is back to 18 holes effective Friday, July 22, 2005. The Seine River is back to a near normal level and all bridges are open. Conditions are generally good with some wet spots. The first hole has a temporary green due to river flooding damage. Power carts are operating.
Crescent Drive Golf Course (311) reopens Saturday, July 23, 2005 at 6:00 a.m. after a 3-week closure due to Red River flooding. The course has some wet spots and will have one temporary green and one temporary tee until further drying allows full use of the course, hopefully early next week.
Harbour View Golf Course and Recreation Complex (204-222-2751) is open for family fun. The golf course is in excellent condition and was unaffected by the recent adverse weather. The recreation complex is fully operational with pedal boats, mini golf and tennis as just a few of the fun activities to take part in. The restaurant overlooking the lake is a great spot for an after-activity snack or for a family lunch or supper destination.
John Blumberg Golf Course (311) has both the 18 hole and 9 hole courses open. Some wet spots exist but generally conditions are good.
