2005 News Releases

Plowing of back lanes begins tomorrow

WINNIPEG - FEBRUARY 10, 2005 - City crews will begin plowing back lanes at 7:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. The operation will include all lanes in the city and continue around the clock with completion expected by 6:00 p.m. Sunday.

"Warm temperatures this weekend will likely result in severe rutting of lanes," says Bruce McPhail, manager of streets maintenance. McPhail reminds residents that clearing the windrow (snow bank) left by the plows is the responsibility of property owners.

McPhail says the condition of residential streets will be evaluated on Monday morning and a decision made regarding a residential plowing operation.
