Message from the Returning Officer

WINNIPEG - June 10, 2004 - Eligible electors whose names appear on the City of Winnipeg’s Official List of Electors from the 2002 Municipal Election will receive Voters Notices by Friday, June 11, 2004, advising of their designated polling location on Election Day and opportunities for Advance Voting.

For this By-Election, in accordance with the prevailing legislation, the City will be utilizing the most current List of Electors, originating out of the 2002 General Municipal Election. The City does not conduct enumeration, and voter information for the City’s List of Electors is originally derived from the Federal Register of Electors.

On Voting Day, all electors should remember to bring their Identification (Driver’s License preferably, or two documents that provide satisfactory evidence of identity) and Voters Notice to the Polls.

On the City of Winnipeg’s Election Day, Tuesday, June 22, 2004, polls will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

All polling locations are accessible. Signage will be posted where necessary to indicate access entrances for persons with disabilities.
