Redwood Bridge Closure Estimated to Last Two Weeks 
WINNIPEG - SEPTEMBER 27, 2002 - The Redwood Bridge, closed yesterday as the result of a traffic accident, is now estimated to remain closed for approximately two weeks.

The City and CUPE and CMHC Kickoff Their Third Annual P.S. We Care Project 
WINNIPEG - SEPTEMBER 27, 2002 - Today, Mayor Glen Murray, Paul Moist, Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 500 President and Dennis Cleve, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation announced their third annual project to help children in Winnipeg's inner city and in Manitoba's northern communities. Called P.S. We Care, the project's goal is to collect used warm clothing and sports equipment for children.

North End Water Pollution Control Centre Continues to Perform Well 
WINNIPEG - SEPTEMBER 23, 2002 - All plant processes are running well on two pumps at the North End Water Pollution Control Centre, and as of early Saturday morning, two additional pumps are ready if needed. In dry weather conditions, the plant normally runs on two pumps, and in wet weather, runs on two to five pumps, depending on the severity of the rainstorms. The sixth pump is used as a backup.

Mayor calls for Independent Review of Treatment Plant Operations 
WINNIPEG - SEPTEMBER 19, 2002 - As a result of the mechanical failure at the City of Winnipeg's North End Water Pollution Control Centre on September 16, 2002, Mayor Glen Murray has instructed the city administration to retain an independent engineering firm to conduct an impartial review of the incident.

North End Water Pollution Control Operating Again 
WINNIPEG - SEPTEMBER 19, 2002 - The North End Water Pollution Control Centre is back in service. The first of six pumps was running at midnight, and the second pump was working by 1:30 am.

WINNIPEG - SEPTEMBER 18, 2002 - Repairs are ahead of schedule at the North End Water Pollution Control Centre. Three motors were removed late in the day yesterday and sent to be cleaned and dried.

WINNIPEG - SEPTEMBER 18, 2002 - Executive Policy Committee today unanimously endorsed a plan by Canadian National Railway which will cut train crossing delays by 40%, for motorists on Kenaston Boulevard at Wilkes, according to CN data.

WINNIPEG - SEPTEMBER 17, 2002 - Repairs are progressing well at the North End Water Pollution Control Centre. A mechanical failure temporarily shut down the center yesterday at approximately 1:15 pm. Because of a faulty valve, raw sewage flowed into the pump room immersing equipment.
