Accidental opening of an automated valve |
- Accidental discharge of chlorinated drinking water directly to Red River from approximately 12:40 p.m. to 1:31 p.m.
- Automated valve accidentally opened and closed in response to a false surge tower high water level alarm during routine testing calibration procedure.
- Drinking water had an estimated free chlorine concentration of 0.48 milligrams per litre.
- Incident reported to Manitoba Conservation, Manitoba Environmental Accident Reporting Line and Environment Canada.
