What is hauled wastewater?

  • a term for hauled sewage
  • all matter (liquid and solid) that is pumped out of septic tanks, holding tanks and tanks/interceptors from residential or non-residential (commercial/industrial) properties
  • raw and untreated
  • more concentrated than regular sewered wastewater (the more concentrated it is, the more expensive it is to treat)

Are there different types of hauled wastewater?

Yes, there are two types:

    • means grey water and toilet waste discharged by appliances (e.g., dishwashers, washing machines) and plumbing fixtures (e.g., toilets, urinals, bidets, sinks, showers, bathtubs)
    • typically two to four times more concentrated than regular sewered wastewater
  2. Non-household hauled wastewater
    • usually from commercial/industrial properties
    • typically 70 to 340 times more concentrated than regular sewered wastewater

Who hauls wastewater?
