Development and Design Standards

To obtain a building permit, the proposal must be in compliance with the development and design standards found in Part 5 of the Winnipeg Zoning By-law. These 3 examples of development show the standards that need to be followed along with links to the applicable section of the by-law.

Proposals must comply with the requirements in the remainder of the Winnipeg Zoning By-law as well. Applicants are encouraged to review the by-law, consult with appropriate professionals, and/or contact the Zoning and Permits Branch for assistance.
