VOTER ELIGIBILITY

The Municipal Councils and School Boards Elections Act
provides that a person who is a resident of the School Division
is eligible to vote if he/she:

|
is a Canadian Citizen;
|
|
●
|
is 18 years of age or older on By-Election Day;
|
|
●
|
has been an actual resident of the School Division for a
period of at least six months on the day of the by-election (since December 24, 2007);
|
|
●
|
resides in the School Division Ward on the day of the by-election.
|
The following determines the residency of a person:
|
|
●
|
is a resident of the place where he/she has his/her ordinary
residence, and to which he/she intends to return when away from it;
|
|
●
|
may be a resident of only one place at a time;
|
|
●
|
does not change residence until he/she has a new residence.
